Prof. Guo Chaoshun, chief coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Initiative, held the third roundtable of the 109 academic year "Cross-Disciplinary Teaching and Research Beyond the Bounds of Tradition", and invited Prof. Li Weilun from the Department of Philosophy of Nat'l. Cheng-Chi Uni., Prof. Weng Shiheng of Donghua Uni., Prof. Peng Rongbang from the Dept. of Human Development and Psychology of Tzu-Chi Uni., Prof. Wan Jinchuan, CBS Director, Prof. Guo Chaoshun, coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Initiative, and FGU teachers from the Dept. of Buddhist Studies and Psychology participated. Reflecting on the experiences from the invited speakers and joint courses conducted in the 109th academic year, this roundtable discussed future plans for the 110th academic year and beyond.

It was agreed that the 110th academic year plan shall focus on exploring the commonalities between Buddhism and modern psychotherapy, in terms of both theory and practice, with the following actionable objectives:
1. Formulating Buddhism-influenced theory relevant to psychotherapeutic healing,
2. Experimenting with Buddhism-influenced psychotherapeutic techniques,
3. Encouraging psychologists to use Buddhist theories or organizations as subjects of research,
4. Exploring the treatment and transformation of suffering (trauma, death, grief, etc.), through psychological studies.

Finally, the nine principal investigators for the 109th year individually reported on the progress of their respective projects.
