The Center for Buddhist Studies at Fo Guang University is pleased to announce the workshop "From Language as Body to Discipline as Core," scheduled to take place from May 24 (Fri) to May 25 (Sat), 2024.
The workshop will focus on the issue of "The Formation and Transformation of the Self."
- ."Language as Body" highlights the formation of the body and its linguistic nature.
- ."Discipline (Precepts) as Core" discusses vow-based actions and how they can create opportunities for self-transformation.
Through the interdisciplinary perspectives of Buddhist scholars and psychologists, the event features seminars on the first day and paper presentations on the second day. It aims to provide participants interested in both Buddhism and Psychology with a novel, cross-disciplinary understanding of these fields.
